2016 Orlando Makeup Show
Feel free to use any photos but please tag me @jessiedeexx or include my website :)The Makeup Show Orlando was held January 30th and 31st at the Hyatt Regency Orlando. I had the pleasure of attending on Saturday and spent the entire day in makeup heaven. I always love events like these because it’s kind of rare to have so many makeup artists in a room together. I wanted to go both days but I had a family emergency and couldn’t attend, however I heard it was much busier than Saturday! This upcoming year they will have shows in LA, NYC, Dallas, Chicago and back to Orlando next January! This year they also added a new city in Atlanta as a pop-up shop, which I know a bunch of people from Orlando are already planning their trip! The Makeup Show Orlando 2016 by Jessie Dee

I’m going to warn you ahead of time – this will be a photo heavy post! It’ll be worth it, I promise ;) The Best Makeup Artists
The Makeup Show had quite a few amazing makeup artists up planned for the show. Makeup Legend,
Charlie Green, who has been featured in Vogue, Elle and GQ and who has worked on numerous celebrities.
Celebrity Makeup Artist, Scott Barnes, who is responsible for the “Jennifer Lopez glow.” Makeup Master,
Eve Pearl, who is an emmy award winning makeup artist who is considered one of the best in the business. And of course,
James Vincent, the inspirational artist and face of the makeup show.
James Vincent and Eve Pearl at The Makeup Show Orlando 2016 by Jessie DeeYears and years ago,
The Artist Summit was held in
Miami Beach for the first time and I was invited to be an ambassador for the event. I had done the hair show many times but it was my first makeup show and I truly learned so much. The event ended up being quite small and really intimate – perfect for a newer artist. I had the chance to spend a lot of time at the
Eve Pearl booth and she really inspired me. The magic salmon concealer is still one of my all time faves!! On a side note – it was when
Make Up For Ever and
Inglot were still newer brands to the US. Inglot was still in the process of trying to open their first store in NYC and I’m not even sure if MUFE was in Sephora yet or not!! Both of their booths were big for the show but SOOOO small in comparison to the monster booths they have now!

Inglot booth – I really love their stacking system and how much easier it makes it for us makeup artists. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that they are a Polish brand and I have to rep my people! The Makeup Show Orlando 2016 by Jessie Dee

Models at The Makeup Show
Everyone knows, one of my favorite things to do at event, is to grab a model and do a quick
5 minute photoshoot. I had reached out to
BMG models before the show and one of their models was going to be a model for a NARS cosmetics class. We coordinated and ended up doing a quick mini shoot during the show. Luckily the Hyatt has amazing lighting just a short walk down from the super super ugly convention room lighting. I also got to shoot with a few other models from the show.

She’s wearing a jacket because I grabbed her at the end of the show and it was freezing the whole day and she was wearing pretty much nothing all day. At points, she was holding a hot coffee to keep warm while she was getting painted! The Makeup Show Orlando 2016 by Jessie Dee
Model Shirin Nova by Scott Barnes and Frank Galasso. Can I just say WOW,
what a transformation!!

The Best Makeup Brands
Top Beauty Brands such as
Make Up For Ever,
Temptu,
NARS, Crown Brush, Graftobian, Inglot and
Kevyn Aucoin were all there. Also, beauty stores such as
Nigels Beauty Emporium,
Ricky’s NYC and
Frends Beauty Supply were all there selling the typicals goods; cheap falsies, banana powder and beauty blenders galore!
Kevyn Aucoin booth. It was hard not to spend all of my budget here! The Makeup Show Orlando 2016 by Jessie DeeIn the past, I have praised
Make Up For Ever on their amazing booths. This year.. I felt Orlando was the redheaded step child of the makeup show. They had ZERO of the original lipsticks, only a handful of lipliners and were sold out of most of the eyeshadows within the first hour! When I asked one of the artists about it, he said that they didn’t have stock in the warehouse to bring to the show.. Hmm…
I took this photo after the blogger preview – around 10:30 am – less than 2 hours after the show had opened! Come on Make Up For Ever!! I am your biggest fan but I felt like the show was an afterthought for you this year.
Was anyone else annoyed by this? Obviously, this did not deter people from going to the Make Up For Ever booth. It was just a little sad. I’ve heard some rumors though about why their was such little stock and apparently it’s a good thing. I’m still waiting to decide! I wanted my lipsticks!

Meet me at The Makeup Show
If you have been to
Premiere Beauty Show, you will be shocked at the size of this event. Although The Makeup Show is small, it packs a lot of punch.
One on one time with some of the biggest artists isn’t uncommon and smaller classes meant you could actually see what they were creating, ask questions and interact with the artists. What the Premiere Beauty Show lacks, The Makeup Show delivers. Its focus is completely Makeup and Beauty in a personalized, intimate environment. I saw old friends while meeting new friends and I had an overall wonderful time! Join me and the best in the industry at
The Makeup Show Orlando on January 21st and 22nd at the Hyatt Regency again!!
Say hi if you see me snapping photos :)For more information about The Makeup Show Orlando 2017 >> Sooo, I wasn’t feeling too well the day of the show and I originally brought my camera bag in but after about 2 hours, I trekked out to my car and dropped it off. It is NOT a short walk. I forgot to grab my extra batteries out of my bag :( And they happened to go out RIGHT when this moment happened. The incredible James Vincent with Scott Barnes and Frank Galasso. I felt so awful – I made the trip back out to my car and grabbed them. For such a small tradeshow – I ended up walking quite a few miles that day! The Makeup Show Orlando 2016 by Jessie Dee

Your post is by far one of the best TMS Orlando re-caps I have ever read in all the years TMS has come to Orlando! I can’t get over your picture quality. I’ve also never seen anyone grab a few models for a shoot! Really good idea.
I loved your post and hope to meet you at TMS next year!
